FIRST DAY

"Every child's first day should be a first class experience."

Mark Tucker, Founder

First Day provides the opportunity for almost 1,000 low-income and at-risk children to begin their school year with confidence and enthusiasm. Our First Day event has a festive atmosphere with lots of games and activities for the whole family. Each registered child that attends the First Day event receives a backpack filled with school supplies, a haircut from a licensed professional, and a new outfit of shirt, pants, and shoes. Each family in attendance receives a bag of non-perishable food items to take home with them after the event.

Need Help with School Supplies?

AboutKidz wants to help! We believe every child should start the school year feeling confident and excited. That's why we've been providing brand new back packs loaded with grade specific school supplies to almost 1,000 children in our area for over 10 years. This year's First Day will be on Friday, August 7th at 6:00 PM at 8101 Sunset Avenue in Fair Oaks.

This year you can sign up for First Day by completing our online registration form. Just click on the button below to begin the 3 step registration process. Step 1 will ask you for your contact information. You'll then get an email where you will be asked to complete Step 2 by following the link to confirm your contact information. You'll then get another email asking you to complete Step 3 by following another link where you will provide information about your child, such as, name, grade, school, gender, etc. so we can prepare for your arrival on August 7th.

Registration will be open from May 5th through June 5th or until we reach 1,000 students registered. Our online registration form will allow you to register up to six children in your household. If you have more than six children, please contact us directly for assistance. We will send out reminders to families that have successfully registered for the event. Please be advised, we are actively following COVID-19 precautionary measures and will update families with any changes to our plans for First Day.
